Bachelor Of Theology (BTh)

Overview

The Bachelor of Theology (BTh) program at Trinity Theological Seminary is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biblical studies, theology, and practical ministry skills. This program equips students for effective leadership and service in various ministry contexts, including local churches, missions, and para-church organizations.

Program Structure

The BTh program typically spans three or four years of full-time study, depending on the level of entry. Students engage in a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of theological subjects, including:

  • Biblical Studies: Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical Languages
  • Theology: Systematic Theology, Historical Theology, Contemporary Theology
  • Ministry: Homiletics, Pastoral Care, Church Administration, Evangelism
  • Practical Experience: Field Education, Internships, Ministry Practicum

Course Requirements

Depending on the level of entry into the program, students may take between 24 and 48 courses to graduate with a Bachelor of Theology degree. These courses encompass foundational theological disciplines and specialized areas of study, providing students with a well-rounded education in theology and ministry.

Credits Requirements

The Bachelor of Theology program currently requires a range of 120 to 144 credits to complete. Students must complete a specified number of credit hours in theology-specific courses, the study of religions in general, non-theology and non-religion courses, and free electives. This ensures a comprehensive education that balances theological depth with breadth of knowledge.

Admissions Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the BTh program, applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Six (6) Senior Secondary or High School Certificate Examination (SSCE/WASCE) passes, including 3 Core subjects (English Language, Mathematics, Social Studies/Science), and 3 electives, with an aggregate of 24 or better.
  • Three "A" Level passes and Six (6) "O' Level credits (including English and Mathematics) or its equivalent, with an aggregate of 36 or better.
  • Successful completion of a Diploma in Theology from an accredited institution, with a Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) aggregate of 3.0 or higher, enabling entry into a 2-year Bachelor of Theology program.
  • Practical Experience: Field Education, Internships, Ministry Practicum

Application Process

Application forms for the BTh program are available throughout the year. Prospective students must obtain application forms from the Office of the Academic Dean of the Seminary and submit completed forms on or before March 31 of each year. International students must satisfy equivalent requirements, and special interviews may be conducted for them before admission.

Graduation Requirements
